December 31st Weekly Terracoin Update — End

The Terracoin Foundation has decided to end our support of Terracoin and shut down The Terracoin Foundation.

We have concluded that no cryptocurrency that is ethical and wanting to help the world with ever succeed.

The Terracoin Foundation’s support of Terracoin is now over but that doesn’t mean Terracoin is dead.

Buffer01 is willing to carry on and wants to create a new Terracoin Team if the community supports it. If you are interested log into Mattermost ASAP and start a discussion!

We will be shutting down all TRC Foundation infrastructure as soon as possible except we will keep a few items going such as Electrum (this will affect Gemmer), TRCpay and Mattermost for a short period.

We plan to keep those services going for a couple of months so people can get their TRC out and so people have a place to organize the next step for Terracoin.

Obviously, the TerracoinCore wallet will continue to work since it is 100% decentralized. I will keep the open source Terracoin github running until a worthy successor shows up.

We also want everyone to downvote the TRC Foundation Team Pay Proposal so that no more team pay is received by the current foundation team members.

We have TRC set aside for TRCf masternodes/donations and lawyer payments and those will be held in trust by myself until someone takes over and works for a year on TRC or forever. I also will be holding onto the Terracoin domain names and am happy to point them wherever as long as I don’t think they are getting pointed to scams. They aren’t for sale but if someone takes over TRC (and I don’t think they are scammers) then I will hand them over.

The weekly updates written by me will no longer be weekly and will slow down until they finally stop.

Lastly, I will be shutting down xplorenow immediately and if anyone is interested, I can make the code open source.

This has been a hard decision by the Terracoin Foundation.

We tried to change the world in a positive way but after four years we can see that there is never going to be a revolution.

Instead, it is just going to be new cryptocurrencies taking money from unsuspecting people.
