September 24th Weekly Terracoin Update — Liquidation

Before we get into the good stuff, I thought I needed to highlight that the Cryptopia liquidation is going forward.

They posted a FAQ to Twitter and the Cryptopia website which you can find here.

I will give you the main points that I got from reading it.

They have been selling Cryptopia’s junk physical assets to pay for the lawyer expenses and so far, that has worked.

They have no clue who hacked the site and they sound like they never will have any idea, which is sort of shocking after this much time.

Lastly, you may be able to get your cryptocurrencies back from Cryptopia after you complete KYC (Know Your Customer) but the biggest issue is that don’t really have a legitimate record of everyone’s account balances so it might be a crap shoot on what you get back.

As many of the community members mentioned over the years of waiting for this to get resolved. The only people who are making out on this hack are the hackers and the lawyers.

It isn’t all bad news, and I am definitely going to do the KYC part to get my money back, but it really highlights the lack of understanding lawyers and the courts have about cryptocurrencies.
